What Items To Bring On A Trip To Russia

Few countries are as historical or as grand as Russia. In fact, Russia is the largest country in the world. Before you head off on a trip to Russia, consider taking a few important items.

Copies of your passport, driver’s license and other important travel documents. Leave one set of copies at your home and take the other set, along with your official travel documents, with you on your trip to Russia. Keep your official travel documents and copies in separate places, in case one set of documents becomes lost or stolen.

Canvas tote bag. One of the most popular things to do in Russia is to shop at their markets. Market vendors in Russia don’t usually supply their customers with bags, therefore bringing along a canvas tote bag is essential if you want to be able to safely store your purchases.

Camera. Snapping memories of your trip to Russia is essential if you want to share your experience with friends or family members back home or remember the experiences at a later date. Be aware that European plug-in outlets are commonly found throughout Russia. If you need to charge your camera, make sure it will work on 220 volts. If it won’t run on 220 volts, don’t worry, you’ll just need to invest in a converter.

Bottled water. In certain areas of Russia, the content of the water doesn’t always meet international standards. If you want to prevent becoming sick while in Russia, avoid drinking their water. If you must have water on hand, consider packing a few bottled waters ahead of time.

Backpack. If you plan on traveling by foot in Russia, you’re definitely going to need a sturdy backpack. Choose a backpack with plenty of space to ensure you have enough room to hold your personal belongings.
